Lately I've been into painting just for fun. Even though my art focus is photography, I use the art of painting in a lot of my mixed media pieces.
There's something really calming and relaxing about painting. You definitelyyyyyy enter "Flow State". If you're into psychology, read about it here:Flow.
A fun way to try painting if you're a beginner is throughGroupon. No matter what city you're in, you can find a ton of two hour BYOB classes that are usually cool. Also, if you're in the mood to practice at home, Michael'shas a good deal on canvases right now .....20 (16x20's) for $40.00 :)
Below are some of the paintings I worked on this week with my friends. Also, we checked out a studio called Tipsy Paintin Glenview, IL. LOVED it there!!
This event is sooooo muchhhh funnnn. Famous photographers from all over the country come to lecture and the conference schedules hands on photo crawls around the city. You meet so many people who share your hobby, you learn about about the business, you practice cool techniques, and you get really inspired and excited about the art.
In the next couple weeks I'll post some of the neat photography projects I shot at this event. Stay tuned for iconic hotel shots, city scapes, street photography, and fashion shoots...
Hi! Welcome to my first blog post. I like to talk about art, film, music, and travel. I will also blog about my latest photography projects and photography events here. If you're into that stuff...then stay tuned for weekly updates :)
